MEDAL COUNT: HOW DID EACH COUNTRY FARE AT TOKYO OLYMPIC GAMES 2020   

OLYMPICS GAMES - Every four years, the Summer Olympics brings together thousands of athletes from around the world to compete in a global arena of sportsmanship and athletic excellence. Tokyo hosted the 2020 Summer Olympics from July 24 to August 9, 2021, marking the second time Japan has hosted the Summer Olympics. The country was first given the honor back in 1964 becoming the first Asian nation to host the Olympic Games. Even in this most challenging of climates where the games had to be pushed by a year, nothing stopped the athletes from exceeding their limits and breaking long-held records. In a complete show of dominance, the U.S. won the most medals at the Olympics, raking in 113 total with 39 gold medals. The U.S. beat out China to claim the top spot by a single gold medal. China finished the games with an impressive 88 medals in total. TIKTOK SCORES WITH UEFA EURO SPONSORSHIP'S 

EURO 2020 - The European football championships are well underway, with the quarter finals taking place this weekend. For those of you who have been tuning it, you may have noticed the huge TikTok sponsor banners around the pitch, and if you haven’t been watching the matches, it’s likely you have seen the Euros sponsored ads on your TikTok feed. All the details HERE.

TOYOTA TO PULL OLYMPICS-RELATED TV ADS IN JAPAN  

SPONSORSHIP - Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan’s largest car manufacturer, will not show Tokyo Olympics-related ads in the host nation amid a lack of public support for the Games. During an online media briefing, the company's chief communications officer Jun Nagata intimated that the event has not gained the public's understanding, (...). More HERE.  

NEW OLYMPIC SPORTS MAKE DEBUTS AT TOKYO GAMES  

OLYMPIC GAMES - On June 1, 2016, the International Olympic Committee made the decision to add new sports to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. It approved the addition of five sports — baseball/softball, karate, skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing — that would add 18 new events and 474 athletes to the Summer Games. Explanation HERE.

FOOTBALL - The six-time Ballon d’Or winner is justifiably considered a legend of the game and a true inspiration for those of all ages inside and outside football.
