Rafael Nadal is the champion at Roland-Garros for an unprecedented 13th time, his victory over world No.1 Novak Djokovic elevating him level with Roger Federer’s all-time mark. The Spaniard delivered one of his finest performances against arguably his toughest rival to prevail 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 on Sunday. It was his 100th match win on the clay in Paris, his 27th from 56 showdowns with the Serb. Rafael Nadal creates history, equals Roger Federer’s record of 20 Grand Slams. Milan Fashion Week: digital, a medium for strong ideas

Oscillating within virtual reality, the Milanese fashion week offered collections for both men and women for the very first time, totaling twenty-three offline shows and forty-one online. Fashion is reacting with strength and ideas. But the same question remains: during Covid times, could digital be the solution to the industry’s crisis? At the heart of Milan, the otherwise sizzling atmosphere during fashion weeks was troubled, constantly hesitant between a burning desire to resume and the fear of new contaminations. Orange parts with €144m for Paris 2024 premium partnership

Global telecommunications firm Orange has been unveiled as the third premium partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The deal will see Orange, which became an official partner of the Paris 2024 bid in 2016, install its high-speed broadband networks at all Games venues so that fans can easily share photos and videos during the event. The first site to be connected with Orange’s fibre optic and mobile networks will be the future head office of the Paris 2024 organising committee in Saint-Denis in early 2021. Read more...






2020 LoL World Championship first stage audience peaks at 1.168m

The 2020 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship has broken more viewership records, with at least five matches from its first stage surpassing one million viewers, according to digital streaming data published by Esports Charts. The gaming competition, which is being held in China from 25th September to 31st October, saw a peak viewership of 1.168 million for the play-in stage matchup between Team Liquid and MAD Lions. The average viewership for the ten-team round-robin play-in stage was 714,000, up 35 per cent compared to the opening period for the 2019 World Championship. Esports Charts added that 29.664 million hours were watched in total. Read more...

Verizon partners with Cisco to offer 5G stadium safety solutions



5G stadium solutions
Verizon Business has revealed that it is collaborating with Cisco to offer 5G stadium solutions to provide a ‘safer in-person experience’ during sporting and entertainment events. The two entities will combine Verizon’s 5G network and 5G Edge to interface with the Cisco Sports and Entertainment portfolio. As a result the solution will integrate with Cisco’s innovations such as the firm’s DNA Spaces to operate secure location analytics. Moreover, Cisco’s switching and data center technology, along with its connected venue analytics will also be used to ensure that venue safety is maximised. Read more...
