Neymar joins Puma after 15 years with Nike



Neymar
Sports brand Puma has signed a long-term endorsement deal with Brazilian football star Neymar and NR Sports, the company which holds the player’s image rights. The agreement will see Neymar wear Puma’s ‘King’ model of football boot (see picture) and act as a brand ambassador off the pitch, wearing Puma’s lifestyle, training, and sport-inspired footwear and apparel products. Read more...







Hublot replaces TAG Heuer as the Premier League’s official timekeeper


The Premier league has named Hublot as the Premier League’s official timekeeper for the 2020/21 campaign, replacing TAG Heuer after four years. Both entities are owned by French cooperation LVMH with its Watch and Jewellery CEO, Stéphane Bianchi, stating that the reason for TAG Heuer not extending its partnership is due to the Swiss brand ‘refocusing its investments on its core areas of sponsorship: motor sports and speed and precision sports’. Read more...

Louis Vuitton, Puma dress up for TikTok Fashion Month



Louis Vuitton, Puma and Alice + Olivia are among the fashion brands appearing in livestreams for TikTok Fashion Month, the social video app’s series that runs Sept. 2 through Oct. 8, according to an announcement. The series extends beyond New York Fashion Week, whose glitzy runway shows will be livestreamed separately on Sept. 13-17. Read more...











LA2028 unveils dynamic logo with 'Ever-Changing A'



Organisers of the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 have unveiled the event’s logo, featuring a dynamic ‘A’, which can be changed and updated by athletes, celebrities and creators. The Local Organising Committee’s emblem aims to celebrate the city’s unique community, as well as its heritage in sport and art. However, the organisers say that no one illustration could express everything that both the city of LA and the Games represent. So the logo will allow creators to bring their own personal stories to life through their individual interpretations of the city through an ‘ever changing A’. Read more...








Coca-Cola and IPC sign worldwide Paralympic partnership  



The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has announced that The Coca-Cola Company has become one of its Worldwide Paralympic Partners. The new partnership includes worldwide marketing rights to the IPC and Paralympic Games until 2032, and comes as a result of the IOC-IPC long-term collaboration, which was signed in 2018. Coca-Cola Japan was an existing Gold Partner of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, but the new deal with the wider group will see the company communicate the transformational impact of the Paralympic Movement to a whole new audience. Read more...







Formula 1 : F1 launches mobile Esports competition



The F1 Esport series that has broken ground since hitting screens in 2017 will for the first time ever hold a smartphone-based championship, exclusively on F1 Mobile Racing, the official F1 mobile game from Codemasters. F1 Mobile Racing Esports is a completely separate competition from the F1 Esport Series which is itself due to commence in earnest this October.  Read more...






Lewis Hamilton launches Extreme E Team


Six-Time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton has created a new team, X44, which will make its debut in Extreme E. Named with reference to Lewis’s own racing number, X44 will enter Season 1 of the Extreme E Championship, with its first X Prix race scheduled to take place in early 2021. Hamilton will not race behind the wheel himself, nor will he be involved with the new outfit on a day-to-day basis, however he will guide the creation of the team as it looks to be competitive in the competition. Read more...







‘New Women’s Tour de France to be introduced from 2022,’ says UCI president



David Lappartient says ASO are planning a multi-stage women’s race. The elite women’s cycling peloton will gather in Nice for La Course this weekend assured the race’s days are numbered. The one-day event has been criticised as a tokenistic add-on to the Tour de France, a poor substitute for the proper equivalent that has long been demanded. Read more...








Chicago Cubs and DraftKings pen ‘US$100m’ betting deal



Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Chicago Cubs have signed a multi-year, nine-figure deal that sees DraftKings become their exclusive sports betting and daily fantasy partner. According to a report by The Action Network, the deal is worth ‘around US$100 million’ and will run for ‘nearly a decade’, with DraftKings planning to open a retail sportsbook at the Cubs’ Wrigley Field ballpark. Read more...
